Pick the Adirondack chair over the chaise

"Pick the Adirondack chair over the chaise. At least the instructions are clear and assembly is easy. The chaise once assembled isn't bad. I picked the wheeled version for ease of moving it around the pool area. I'm glad that we selected no arms because the reality of the width of the chair seems narrow. I had the measurements so shouldn't have been surprised, but it's narrower than the older chaise chairs, non-Polywood, we had. This chaise lounge was obviously designed by someone who flunked out of proper design theory. The directions are horrible and the pictures don't really give you a good representation of how to put the chaise together. There is a lack of washers between the back part and the bottom for wear and tear. The placement of the holes for some of the screws make assembling this almost impossible unless you have very small hands and enjoy quarter turns with the hex tool supplied. You can't use a drill to help since it would be cocked and will strip the screw heads. We have loved the other Polywood items we have purchased in the past. This one missed many QA standards."

Q&A

Are the chaise lounges stackable for storage? Thank you.
Hi Danyel, Thank you for your question! The Cottage Chaise Lounge Chairs are not stackable. Our Nautical Chaise Lounge chairs can stack. Thanks, Lana
What is the length of the backrest? It’s not listed in the diagram like it is for the Nautical style (which shows 30” length for the backrest). I know I could take the total length and subtract the seat depth, which would give me roughly 30”. But what is throwing me off is the 5” difference in total height between the two styles (39” Nautical, 33.94” Country). Shouldn’t they be the same because the items are near identical? Anyway, I want to confirm the length of the backrest before deciding between the two. Thank you!
Hi there, Gina. Not all of our chaise lounges will have the same dimensions, though I can confirm the back for this chaise lounge and the Nautical are both 30" in length. There is a gap between the back and seat assembly, where they both meet at an angle. A minor difference in size will likely be due to the angle the back will rest at. I hope this information helps! Thank you for taking the time to reach out. Best wishes, Jay C.
How much weight does it support? Are all of the functional parts like the seat angles and wheels the same as the Nautical but just a different backrest design?
Hi Gina, Excellent question! Each product is run through a variety of tests to comply with ASTM standards. POLYWOOD products are weight tested up to 400 lbs, although many products can withstand much more. Apart from difference in design, both chairs also have a difference in dimensions. The Country Living Chaise with Wheels has the overall dimensions of 26.25" x 33.94" x 77.63" (WxHxD) the Nautical Chaise with Wheels has the overall dimensions of 27" x 39" x 78.5" (WxHxD). However, the wheels and the seat angles are the same. I hope this information was helpful. Thank you, Michelle
