How high does the bar need to be in order for these chairs to fit comfortably?

Does the black lumber got hot to the touch when left in the sun all day?

Hi Tara, Great question! We've designed POLYWOOD furniture to remain outdoors in all climates, but on hot days in direct sunlight, darker lumber colors readily absorb heat. On hot sunny days, we recommend testing furniture temperature with the back of your hand to make sure it's safe to sit on. Why don't they make lounge chairs taller? Older people have a difficult time getting up and down, why not make a lounge chair to accommodate so they are able to sit on the lounge at chair (or a few inches shorter) height without the struggle of getting up and down on their own. I have never been comfortable sitting or getting up all my life, and now I am 90 yrs and figure it's time somebody got smart.

If you scroll down past the Product Details and click on Assembly Information, you can see the exact assembly that is required for each piece.
